Well....who would have believed the way things have developed over the last 15 months?
I have just returned from a successful launch of my work in Copenhagen.
Most of the effect has been down to the efforts of Preben, Anita, Tina and Sabina at Galleri Bastillen in Frederiksberg,
which is an almost independent borough of Copenhagen.
To them I want to record my thanks.
The exhibition of four local artists and my work was graceously opened by the British Embassador to Denmark,
Mr David Frost, and was recorded for Danish television too! Two of the pieces sold on the night, and a week later
I understand there has been sustained interest from
other visitors to the gallery.
We are all very optimistic about the response so far,
but of course the downturn across the financial world has
put a bit of a blight on things.
I am now back in harness in Cumbria, and getting back into a sustained rhythm of work.
The new emphasis has been on the corner paintings,
but I am running out of corners in my own home to keep them.
A very large painting was installed in the foyer of the new
Age Concern building in Millom this November.
I hope people reading this feel at ease about contacting
me and commenting about the work and to suggest
possible developments, exhibitions etc. |
